Members at August 2025 meeting

Welcome!
We welcome all visitors and we encourage anyone interested in becoming a member to attend a meeting to acquaint themselves with the Cadillac Garden Club and to meet members.  If you cannot attend a Monday evening meeting, call Candy Kelley @ (231) 920-3660 or June Peterson @ (231) 920-2736, Co-Presidents, to get more information about the Club.

Membership Responsibility

Members are encouraged to participate in as many Club activities as they can or are able. Opportunities within the club include working on a variety of community projects, helping to maintain the Sound Garden, fundraising, program planning, flower shows, new member recruitment, attending programs and meetings, and host duties at the monthly meetings.

Annual Dues

Annual dues are $20 ($6 of that goes to Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc.).  Each member receives the Michigan Garden Club  quarterly newsletter and may participate in educational opportunities sponsored by the state organization.

Monthly Meetings

We meet the second Monday of every month April-December.  All meetings begin at 6:00 PM and are held at First Presbyterian Church of Cadillac, 221 E. Harris St. unless otherwise noted.  If Cadillac Public Schools are cancelled the day of a planned meeting, our evening meeting will also be cancelled.

Contact

Interested? Please call Candy Kelley @ (231) 920-3660 or June Peterson @ (231) 920-2736, C0-Presidents, for questions or more information! All levels of interest and expertise welcome.

Maybe you love gardening, flowers, or environmental responsibility but cannot commit to becoming a Club member. You can still support the Cadillac Garden Club in several ways:
  • Volunteer to work alongside a Club member to clean up, trim, weed, spread mulch, or plant at the Cadillac Sound Garden. Teams maintain the Sound Garden weekly in the spring, summer and fall, plus a monthly Saturday morning group effort. More help is always needed! Businesses, schools, churches, organizations and individuals can help on a one time basis or on a recurring schedule (for example, one day a month). Call Kathy at (231) 878-0492 or (231) 775-7762 to schedule a time.
  • Attend a Club meeting that interests you, as long as it is not restricted to members only. Most meetings are free and guests are welcome. Look under EVENTS for details, dates, location, time, etc. and about cost. Cost is usually involved when there is a flower related workshop for attendees to participate in.
  • Make a donation to the Cadillac Garden Club. The Club is the primary source of planning and upkeep of the Sound Garden at 398 Chestnut St. Cadillac, MI. Check the Garden out if you are not familiar with it. It is a unique treasure that draws visitors every season. The Cadillac Garden Club needs funds to purchase plants, trees, musical items, sculptures and mulch. Donations may be sent to Cadillac Garden Club Treasurer, 4907 E. 46 Rd., Cadillac, MI. Make check payable to Cadillac Garden Club.
  • Attend our annual Holiday Home Tour the first Saturday of December. This is our only fundraiser. See details for this year under EVENTS.

Join Us!

Membership is open to all men and women interested in the areas of horticulture, conservation, floral, and landscape design.  Opportunities within the Club include working in the community gardens, fundraising activities, program planning, and regular meeting hostess duties.  Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church of Cadillac, 221 E. Harris, Cadillac. If you have questions, use the contact form on our website.

Maybe you love gardening, flowers or environmental advocacy but do not have the time to join the Cadillac Garden Club. There are several ways you can support the Club and its work without being a member:
  1. Volunteer to work alongside Club members to weed, plant, trim, or spread mulch at the Sound Garden on Chestnut St., Cadillac (just east of Consumers Energy, 330 Chestnut St) along the Clam River. Members spend time there weekly in spring, summer and fall and help is always needed! We also have a standing "clean-up" day the 2nd Saturday of the month, June through October. Check dates under EVENTS. Individuals, families, schools, businesses, churches and organizations can help. The Sound Garden is a community treasure that has visitors in all seasons so help us out one time or on a recurring  basis (like one day a month). Contact Kathy at (231) 878-0492 or (231) 775-7762 to schedule a time to join us.
  2. Attend a monthly meeting that looks interesting to you. The upcoming agenda with program topics and information is listed under EVENTS. Most meetings/programs are free and guests are welcome. If this is not true it will be listed in the EVENTS posting. Workshops where attendees complete a flower related project usually have a small materials charge.
  3. Donate to the Cadillac Garden Club. We do the primary planning and maintenance of the Sound Garden and need funds to purchase plants, trees, flowers, mulch, musical items, and sculptures. Funds are also used to educate members and the community on topics related to our mission. Donations can be made to the Cadillac Garden Club by sending a check to CGC Treasurer, 4907 E. 46 Rd., Cadillac MI 49601. We also write grants to secure funds when we can.
  4. Attend the annual Cadillac Garden Club Holiday Home Tour the first Saturday of December. Information for the upcoming tour is posted under EVENTS. This is our only fundraising event.
