Monthly Meetings & Special Events:
Normally meetings are held the 2nd Monday of the month, April - December @ 6:00 PM. Meetings are usually held at The First Presbyterian Church of Cadillac, 221 E. Harris Rd., Cadillac 49601. ​ ​Barrier free entry is on Harris St.  An educational or interactional program is provided first, followed by the Club business meeting. Guests are invited unless otherwise indicated. Program is free unless included in description below. Some adjustments may be needed throughout the year so check back often.

May 10, 2025: Community Clean Up in the Sound Garden (Community Volunteers Invited)

The Cadillac Garden Club invites community members (any age) to help with the spring clean up in the Sound Garden. This is part of the city wide park clean up day.
9:00-11:00 AM: Dress for the weather, have a water bottle, wear garden clothes and bring favorite garden tool, if you have one. We will be weeding, raking, pruning and trimming. Garden Club members will direct you to the work that needs to be done.
May 12, 2025: Program on Biochar and Business Meeting - GUESTS WELCOME
First Presbyterian Church of Cadillac, 221 E. Harris, Cadillac
6:00-7:00 PM: "Biochar (type of charcoal; mainly used for soil applications)" by Nate Walton, PhD., Michigan State University Extension, Consumer Horticulture Program Instructor
7:00-7:20 PM: Social time and refreshments.
7:20-8:00 PM: Business meeting. ​Members should read in advance the agenda and information emailed before the meeting. Election of new officers.
May 17, 2025: Community Clean Up in the Sound Garden Day #2 (Community Volunteers Invited)
398 Chestnut, Cadillac (east of high school and west of Consumer Power office)
The Cadillac Garden Club invites community members (any age) to help with the spring clean up in the Sound Garden. Primarily we will be spreading mulch on this particular day.
9:00-11:00 AM: Dress for the weather, have a water bottle, wear garden clothes and bring favorite garden tool, especially a rake, if you have one. Garden Club members will direct you to the work that needs to be done.
Every Wednesday, May 21, 2025 - October 8, 2025: Weekly Clean Up at the Sound Garden

Maintenance activities like weeding, raking, pruning and trimming will be done in the Sound Garden. Community volunteers are invited to help Garden Club members. Dress for the weather, have a water bottle, wear garden gloves and bring a favorite garden tool, if you have one.
June 9, 2025: Field Trip to Traverse City Botanical Gardens and Historic Barn - GUESTS WELCOME
1:00-2:00 PM: Guidedgroup tour of Traverse City Botanical Gardens and Historic Barn, 1490 Red Dr., Traverse City, MI 49684
 Must make a reservation by June 3 by calling June Peterson @ (231) 920-2736. The garden needs to have a count to make sure they have enough guests. The garden can provide "transportation" during the tour for anyone who needs mobility assistance. Let June know if you need that assistance. Attendees should contact each other for car pooling and, depending on interest, attendees may meet for lunch before or after the tour or make a coffee stop after the tour. This will be determined later.

First Presbyterian Church of Cadillac, 221 E. Harris, Cadillac in church garden on Harris to west of building (behind church marquee) 
6:00-7:15 PM: Salad dinner and dessert coordinated by August hostesses. Let hostess know if you can bring a card table and four chairs. Members may participate in designing tablescapes, to be coordinated by hostesses.
7:15-8:00 PM: Business meeting. Members should read in advance the agenda and information emailed before the meeting.

Join Us! 

Membership is open to all men and women interested in the areas of horticulture, conservation, floral, and landscape design.  Opportunities within the Club include working in the community gardens, fundraising activities, program planning, and regular meeting hostess duties.  Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church of Cadillac, 221 E. Maybe you love gardening, flowers or environmental advocacy but do not have the time to join the Cadillac Garden Club. There are several ways you can support the Club and its work without being a member:
  1. Volunteer to work alongside Club members to weed, plant, trim, or spread mulch at the Sound Garden on 398 Chestnut St., Cadillac. Members spend time there weekly in spring, summer and fall and help is always needed! We also have a standing "clean-up" day the 2nd Saturday of the month, June through October), and an annually selected date in April & May, 9 AM-11 AM. Check dates under EVENTS. Individuals, families, schools, businesses, churches and organizations can help. The Sound Garden is a community treasure that has visitors in all seasons so help us out one time or on a recurring  basis (like one day a month).   2. Attend a monthly meeting that looks interesting to you. The upcoming agenda with program topics and information is listed under EVENTS. Most meetings/programs are free and guests are welcome. If this is not true it will be listed in the EVENTS posting. Workshops where attendees complete a flower related project usually have a small materials charge.
  3. Donate to the Cadillac Garden Club. We do the primary planning and maintenance of the Sound Garden and need funds to purchase plants, trees, flowers, mulch, musical items, and sculptures. Funds are also used to educate members and the community on topics related to our mission. Donations can be made to the Cadillac Garden Club by sending a check to CGC Treasurer, 4907 E. 46 Rd., Cadillac MI 49601. We also write grants to secure funds when we can.
  4. Attend the annual Cadillac Garden Club Holiday Home Tour the first Saturday of December. Information for the upcoming tour is posted under EVENTS. This is our only fundraising event.
